My wife and I had met Nick Shuford at Kentucky Lake. It was a great property but it did not meet our needs with being able to have horses.

About a year later Indian Lake had come up and Nick contacted my wife and me. He told us that it was everything that we were looking for. So we came on down to the property. Nick was so gracious that he put us up in a hotel for the night free of charge. My wife and I thought that was a very nice thing to do.

The next morning when we went over to the property Nick was there all smiles and ready to show us around. We instantly fell in love with the property, great lake, awesome lots and a overall great layout. We purchased a 7.8 acre parcel lot 140.

About two weeks later I wanted to take my boys down there to check it out and to meet with Nicholas Friend a local builder to talk about clearing the lot for a driveway. On the way down I contacted Nick to ask him about a nearby hotel and he answered right away and said that he would get right back to me. He called me right back and found me a hotel in Huntingdon and said that because we missed the customer appreciation day the week prior that the room was on him again! He provided us with the best customer service that I have ever had I recommend him to anyone!

He has become a friend through the process with us getting our dream retirement property! I highly recommend him to anyone! Indian lake is a wonderful community and great fishing too! Wish I could just pick up and move now but I have something to look forward too when my wife and I retire! Thanks again Nick for making this an unforgettable experience!!!

We are recent purchasers of land in the Indian Lake development and are arguably the most excited we've been in a long time about a major outlay of funds! Here's a synopsis of our story:

Having celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary the day before, we decided to take a drive out to take a look around and see what was being offered for lakefront enjoyment in our vicinity. Little did we know what a great experience we were in for - from our first call for directions to the punctual and friendly reception at the gate by Kevin Pedersen, the Land Consultant we were fortunate enough to have been paired with. We were in for a great afternoon!

As for Kevin ...

Whether novices to lakefront living, or seasoned veterans who have a pretty good idea of what they're looking for, there is no doubt that Kevin would be the quintessential consultant to assist any potential buyer. He very easily helped us (as the former) to determine exactly what would best suit our needs - in lifestyle, plot size, future development, and financial consideration. He was extremely helpful in answering each of our questions and was forthcoming in every way; making us very comfortable with the integrity of the Indian Lakes community and organization. Further, he was informative concerning the development's future plans. These details, needless to say, are important considerations, and Kevin seemed to cover them quite competently.

We particularly appreciated Kevin's patience in driving us to any and all sites which might fall into our area of interest, and he made numerous treks with us over each lot before we finally made our selection. He provided outstanding advice and suggestions as we assessed each area and we feel his input was instrumental in our being as happy as we find that we are at this point with the purchase we have finally decided upon. He did all this very affably and was a lot of fun to work with.

He was very knowledgeable concerning each step in the purchasing process, and has been extremely good about keeping in touch with us.

Needless to say, Kevin rates soars highly on our scale - and no - we're NOT related to him in any way! We can only hope that other buyers will have the good fortune of finding him awaiting their arrival at the development's gate, just as we did. They won't be disappointed.

Paul and Phoebe Bergoffen What a difference a day can make! While at home in Massachusetts I received an email from my son-in-law, a song-writer and performer living in Nashville. Both my daughter and son-in-law had been trying to get us to consider moving to the Nashville area rather than Florida. In fact we had just returned from a fantastic trip in Florida where we had decided to settle down for the winter months. I always put the brakes on at the very mention of Tennessee.

The email was the advertisement for land available at Indian Lakes. (I think Phoebe, my wife of 43 years, may have put them up to it!) My family knows that I love fishing and being near the water. I live by a philosophy my father taught me very early in my childhood: "God does not subtract from the allotted span of a man's life the hours spent in fishing." He was an inspiration to us all and always taught us how to show our appreciation for the great outdoors.

The Indian Lake idea opened my mind a bit, so we flew down to Nashville two days later to spend a few days visiting and…to check out the Indian Lake Community. What a difference a day makes!

We met Anthony Rios at the main gate and we proceeded to view a few choice lots. One in particular really stood out for us both, on the water of course, and it was situated perfectly. We had the good fortune to meet Marty DiLoreto later in the day as well. Both Anthony and Marty were very patient and informative as we had our questions answered.

We "sealed the deal" that very day and began thinking about our future in the Indian Lake Community. Thank you Anthony! Thank you Marty! And…timely email Sean.

I guess Florida orange juice every morning can't hold a candle to the call of the lake and our own boat dock!

The Trpezanovich Family, Lot #11 Carol and I have been looking for Lakefront property for over ten years, but have always backed away from the high prices. We decided to take a land hunting trip in late May and set up a number of property visits. One of the properties was Indian Lake, and we were subsequently contacted by Nick Shuford who assured us that a nice Lakefront lot could be purchased at Indian Lake for a reasonable price. Nick set up a meeting date, and helped us with Hotel arrangements and suggested things to see and visit in the local area. Since we were coming from the Seattle area and were unfamiliar with West Tennessee this was important to us. When the date came to meet with Nick, he spent the whole day with us and helped us pick out a great waterfront lot, which we purchased. Nick’s help and area knowledge contributed greatly in our decision to purchase a lot in the Indian Lake community. We are planning to build a retirement home on the lot in the next two years and Carol is already knee deep in the process of selecting a plan for the new house. We can’t wait to make the move complete. Thanks very much to Nick for all of his help!

Indian Lake is a wonderful setting for our dream home. We were sold on the location when we learned it was a managed lake. Catch and release will help us get the bass to the trophy size we all dream of. Also since these 8lb bass that are being caught already have been released, they will be 9-10 lbs in a year or two. Pam and I have owned land for over a decade but were still searching for waterfront property where we could throw in a fishing line from our own dock and eventually build a vacation home. The newspaper ad was intriguing enough and a brief phone call with Nick Shuford convinced us to head to Indian Lake to take a look for ourselves. We were met by Marty Diloreto who gave us a brief overview of the development over lunch. Nick then showed us around and took us to available lots that seemed to fit our preferences. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, even on a cold winter day. Nick made us feel like we would be joining a very family oriented community and the lake and views sold themselves. The promise of a lake committed to a steady population of game fish didn't hurt either. Of course we departed Indian Lake after taking a few photos of our daughters placing a sold sign on our new waterfront playground. Nick and Marty have stayed in touch, providing answers to follow-up questions and offering guidance on topics like boat docks and builders. Thanks for making us feel welcome!

I called the folks at TN Land and Lakes because of a full page ad in our local newspaper. My girlfriend cut it out and gave it to me as a place we might like to contact regarding lake/waterfront property. I was lucky enough to speak directly with Nick Shuford, one of your land consultants. I was a little stand-offish with him immediately, due to my own skepticism, but Nick was patient, asked questions, and was genuinely interested in finding a potential fit for mine and my girlfriend's "ultimate escape". We were able to quickly and painlessly schedule an appointment to see the land, were invited to lunch, and all the arrangements were made without issue. We arrived and were greeted warmly, had a quick burger, and off we went to visit a few lots. We looked at about 4 or so, none of which were exactly what we wanted but gave us a feel for the lake, the community, and the lots available. It could not be a more perfect fit, for both my wants and those of my girlfriend. We both love our new lot at Indian Lake and are excited to spend time there together.

Overall, the Indian Lake experience thus far has been awesome and I expect it to continue. We liked Nick very much and I felt as if Nick was a trustworthy, honest, and attentive land consultant. I know he will continue to help us as we grow into happy and satisfied members of the Indian Lake community.

I just wanted to pass on the wonderful experience Della and I had working with Nick. We traveled about a 1000 miles to look over the property and Nick spent close to 10 hours with us. I realize that your sales folks are most likely on a commission as most real estate folks are, but you would of never been able to tell that with Nick. There was no rush, and I truly believed he cared about our wants and needs from the beginning. We went from a 14.9 acre piece of land (which by the way we had no doubt we were going to get) to a 1.5 acre waterfront that Della loves.

Now you know what type of business I am in, so I am normally suspicious of all. However for those folks that are thinking about "going for it", now is the time, and make sure you ask for Nick Shuford. As your motto states and Nick repeated, buy now and build later. Della and I started out with that intention, however, it is turning out to buy now and build now! We are excited to join the Indian Lake family and are looking for many more cookouts to come.

Please let Nick know that he did a hell of a job, and as far as his salesmanship, he is not to change a thing.
